How to make Koporsky tea (Ivan tea) Full version. Fireweed.
Good. Here is a brief instruction for you. We collect a leaf of fireweed before flowering. You can collect the leaf during flowering. Just before flowering, the leaf turns soft, delicate. If harvested very late, the leaves will be coarse. Tea made from such leaves will not taste good. The collected sheet is carefully selected from debris. Then pack tightly into bags. The bags are placed in the freezer for 72 hours. Then the sheet is thawed at room temperature in bags. If you defrost without a bag, then the sheet will collect moisture from the air. Thawed leaf smells great already! :) Pour thawed leaves into a large bulk container. All. We begin to twist cigars (sausages). You need to twist the sheet only in one direction! Otherwise, nothing will work. We put tightly twisted cigars in a plastic or glass container (not metal!). Tightly cover with a plastic bag or film. All. The fermentation process starts. Further, it all depends on the ambient temperature. The higher the temperature, the faster the fermentation process. Periodically, tea needs to be sniffed. Its smell should change. At first it smells of grass. But closer to readiness, the aroma changes to fruity-floral (the aroma of dried fruits, the aroma of flowers). The main thing is not to miss the moment! If overexposed a little longer, the aroma of tea will begin to weaken! Next we get our cigars (sausages) and cut them with a sharp knife on the board. In shape, they will resemble a wheel or a pill. We call them that: pills. :) We lay out these tablets on a baking sheet and send to the oven. Next, dry them at a temperature of 100-150 C. Periodically
take out a baking sheet and turn the pills on the other side. The color will begin to change from dark green to brown and even black. We wait for the tea to dry completely - it should crunch between the fingers. All. You can brew in a cup and drink. :) Store tea in a dark place in a tightly closed container.
