Attack On Titan came out of the gate as one of the most brutal anime out there. It got famous pretty fast for its depiction of brutal violence as the last remnants of humanity are beset upon by mindless Titans who were eager to munch people to pieces. If that wasn’t enough to get you, the show also introduced the concept of the Survey Corps. They’re these cool knights who fly around cities like Spider-Man and cut Titans to bits with their blades.
The various members of this corps are some of the coolest and fiercest characters ever introduced in anime. Several of them are short in stature but have absolutely no problem cutting through Titans that are four times their size.
This can be somewhat easy with the regular Titans, so Attack On Titan decided to throw an even bigger challenge their way. It introduced the concept of intelligent Titans that were controlled by humans. These Titans had all of the wisdom and fighting styles of the Survey Corps, plus cool Titan powers!
For most of the Corps, this meant that they were outmatched. Not for all of them though. Some like Levi and Mikasa are so skilled that they can outmaneuver and out fight any Titan regardless of their skill. Then there’s Eren who comes with a lot of skill and his own Titan form as well!
