Gaussian splatting delivers photorealistic 3D rendering in real-time, but file sizes of 1-10 GB per scene prevent streaming and mobile use. Our research extends the ISO/IEC V-PCC standard to compress Gaussian splat scenes from gigabytes to just 10-13 MB while maintaining exceptional visual quality— outperforming the state of the art. By leveraging video coding, V-PCC works with existing mobile hardware, enabling real-time streaming of photorealistic 3D scenes on mobiles devices.
