In this review, we take a look at the Sanytron Astrion — an unusual control remote for Home Assistant. Externally, it resembles a classic TV remote, but inside it is a standalone Android device with a touchscreen, physical buttons, a charging dock, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and an infrared transmitter.
We will go over the package contents, design, connection to Home Assistant, RosCard setup, creating a dedicated dashboard for the remote, and the operation of light, curtain, climate, and media player cards. We will also take a separate look at how the physical buttons work, quick settings, firmware updates, and the Astrion Home integration for IR control of a TV.
The main question of this review is how convenient such a remote really is in everyday use and whether it can replace a smartphone or a wall panel for daily smart home control.
