George Lucas' Star Wars Sequel Changes Everything
Subscribe: bit.ly/Subscribe-to-CBR
Since its debut in 1977, George Lucas has made a home in all our hearts through the stories and tales told through Star Wars. From Anakin’s descent to the Dark Side and becoming Darth Vader, to his redemption through his son Luke Skywalker, us fans have found many takeaways from the original six films that we can apply to our lives and become Jedi ourselves. Could you imagine if George continued into the Sequel Trilogy? Well apparently he thought about it!
From the upcoming book, “The Star Wars Archives: 1999 - 2005”, George Lucas had an idea for a Sequel Trilogy that would be set post Galactic Civil War, similar to where Disney +’s hit show, “The Mandalorian”, is set. However, rather than focusing on new characters, this story would focus on Leia rebuilding the Galaxy led by the New Republic, and Luke reforming the Jedi Order facing threats scattered across the Galaxy -- such as the remnant sects of the Empire and a returning Darth Maul who now has an apprentice named Darth Talon.
Sadly, this story never made it to the big screen and the Sequel Trilogy has been set in stone -- dividing the fandom in the process. However, now that this information is public it’s about to change how we all view the sequel trilogy and what we know about Star Wars. You see, through Dave Filoni’s “The Mandalorian” and growing Filoni-Verse, this story is already being told and we don't even know it. So fans, buckle up because we’re going to break all this down in today's CBR video!
