Thunderbolts Are Making An Appearance In Phase 4

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier TV show is on its way and besides being a great way to flesh out two of Captain America’s best friends, it also has the opportunity to expand the MCU in a completely new way, and that’s by introducing the infamous Marvel comics’ team the Thunderbolts!

But just who are the Thunderbolts and how could the upcoming Disney+ show incorporate them? Well it all has to do with Baron Zemo, who in the comics led the team initially as they pretended to be heroes only to turn out to be dastardly villains instead! Now we know villains like Batroc the Leaper are coming back for the Falcon and Winter Soldier TV show and this time, he has friends. Could this be the beginning of a supervillain team up that eventually becomes the Thunderbolts? Maybe!

Now, the MCU doesn’t have to adapt this full on, but it could do a version where Baron Zemo’s Thunderbolt team leads to something much greater down the line. Whatever Baron Zemo does in the upcoming TV show could lead to something like Thunderbolt Ross starting his own Thunderbolt team. And how awesome would that be? Think about it, he could populate the team with some of the MCU’s forgotten villains like The Leader, Justin Hammer, Ghost, and even Taskmaster!
