Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 was a truly great movie. It expanded the interpersonal relationships between the Guardians. It added quite a bit to the lore of the galaxy. It also introduced Peter Quill’s father, Ego, and the fact that Peter was a Celestial. The movie spends quite a bit of time explaining what Star-Lord’s new powers are. Then, faster than you can say giant Pac-Man, they were gone forever.
While this makes sense for the plot, it does let a lot of fun options for Peter Quill go. Can you imagine all of the colorful mayhem Peter and the gang could’ve gotten up to if Quill had the ability to summon pretty much anything he wanted at any given time. Sure, he could’ve helped save the galaxy, but what fun would that be?
His celestial status could’ve also given us a glimpse into other cosmic pockets of the MCU. Thus far, we really haven’t seen much of the classic cosmic heroes that Marvel fans love so much. If Peter leveled up significantly, he could’ve been pals with characters like the Silver Surfer or Quasar.
Of course, the big question is what would happen if the infinitely powerful Quill went up against the infinitely powerful Thanos. The answer to that is a lot of fun but you’ll have to watch to find out!
So let’s dive right in! Here are all the fun things Peter Quill could’ve done with his cosmic abilities.
