Legend of Korra season three breathed new life into the franchise after a lackluster second season. Not that Legend of Korra season two was downright bad, but it just had a number of issues and problems that were hard to overlook. Thankfully, Korra’s third season was an explosive return to form. It might be the best season of Korra thanks to a thrilling central story and really interesting subplots.

Season three of Korra sees the world in a huge state of change. People everywhere are suddenly developing the ability to airbend. This is great news for Tenzin, who along with Korra heads out to recruit these new airbenders in order to rebuild the Air Nation. But it’s not all great news. The dangerous anarchist known as Zaheer also gets airbending powers and uses them to enact a plan of pure chaos. On his side are some of the most interesting side villains the show has ever done and they’re more than a match for Team Avatar. Along the way we get the welcomed return of Zuko, a deep dive into Lin Beifong’s past and some adorable sky bison! We also get a scene with the new Earth Queen that shows just how powerful airbending can be. If you’ve seen the show, you know what I’m talking about.
