Howard Stark, like his superhero son, sure got around when it came to the ladies. While it was one of his defining characteristics there was one woman who seemed immune to Howard’s charms, and that was Agent Peggy Carter. She was key in developing Steve Rogers into Captain America and later the Office of Strategic Services into the Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division or S.H.I.E.L.D. Howard and Peggy’s special relationship may have started with Steve Rogers but it didn’t end with him going in the ice. Even with big reveals in Avengers: Endgame there are still a lot of questions revolving around Peggy Carter and her life outside of Agent Carter and Captain America: The First Avenger. Even between the writers and the directors of the MCU movies there is a disagreement over who the eventual husband of Peggy Carter turned out to be. There might have been a reason for Peggy to be coy about who she married. It might be because it’s a time traveling Steve Rogers and this timeline’s Steve Rogers can’t know that yet, but it might be because there is a child in there that is close to Steve Rogers, one Tony Stark who is the result of a moment between Peggy and Howard Stark.
