The Dragon Ball Franchise is built on a foundation of sagas that put absolutely everything on the line. From the global domination of Demon King Piccolo all the way to the Universal Survival arc, Goku and the rest of the Z Fighters have seen their fair share of high-stakes situations. But it’s in situations exactly like that where Goku is able to break through his limits and achieve new powerful forms, like when he tapped into Ultra Instinct after fusing with his Spirit Bomb fighting Jiren in the Tournament of Power; or when he finally achieved the Super Saiyan form against lord Frieza. We’ll be looking at the very best high-stakes sagas going all the way back to Goku’s childhood. The best fighters shine under pressure, and in King Piccolo’s case, he spent the last hundred years trapped under the pressure of the whole ocean. So it’s no surprise his eventual emergence nearly spelled doom for the entire world! And we can’t forget other nefarious villains like the first appearance of Vegeta and Nappa during the Saiyan Saga and their greedy hunt for immortality. This famous franchisel is nothing if not action packed, and in these sagas that put everything on the line, you don’t get much more action than this!
