The Batman is coming to theaters in 2021 and we couldn’t be more excited. Robert Pattinson is suiting as everyone’s favorite superhero detective instead of Ben Affleck this time. While some are skeptical of casting the Twilight actor as DC’s toughest hero, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic.
For one, Matt Reeves from the new Planet of the Apes trilogy is helming the new film. He’s taking it in a new direction, with a stronger emphasis on the noir aspects of the franchise than just the superhero ones.
That does beg the question, what mystery is Batman going to have to solve? If you’ve been reading Batman comics over the last decade, you know that the coolest mystery he’s solved since the comics reboot has involved an organization known as the Court of Owls.
While they would make an obvious villain for the Dark Knight, perhaps there’s a little more to it. We don’t yet know how this version of Batman was trained to be the fiercest superhero with no superpowers that there ever was. Perhaps in this version of the story, he was trained by the Court itself.
So how would this affect the movie in general? Which other villains are going up against Batman and how would they be affected by the Court? Perhaps most importantly, is this film going to connect to Joker?
Let’s find out together as we investigate whether or not the new Batman was trained by the Court of Owls.
