There’s no shortage of brutal anime bad guys out there. Shows like Dragon Ball Super, Naruto Shippuden, Neon Genesis Evangelion and One Punch Man are known for characters showing us some of the most disturbing moments in the genre. Then there are lesser known anime by mainstream standards like Code Geass and Gurren Lagann that have some epic bad guys of their own that you might not know about.

Some of these bad guys are intergalactic warlords or evil entities that obliterate galaxies to suit their evil needs. They don’t care that billions may die as long as they get their way. Some of them even enjoy the spectacle of watching entire civilizations cease to exist.

Then there are villains who do evil things for what they think are good reasons. These characters from shows like Death Note seriously blur the line between hero and villain. They try to save the world but they end up becoming the very thing that they swore to stop in the first place. These kinds of characters can really make you rethink morality as a whole.
