Spider-man has a lot of great villains, which is good because he has a lot of movies, too. The next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie for Spider-man will be his eighth since 2002. In that time we’ve seen him fight three different Green Goblins, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Venom, Electro, The Lizard, Vulture, and Mysterio. A lesser hero might start scraping the barrel looking for a unique villain to bring to the screen for the next go around. But Spider-man is no lesser hero and he has one villain that is more than due for the big screen. That villain is Kraven the Hunter.

Kraven has been around for a long time, in the comics as well being kept alive by a special elixir he drinks to make hime the world’s greatest hunter. Whether it’s as a former companion of Nick Fury in his 1950s Avengers team or as part of the epic storyline from Kraven’s Last Hunt, Kraven would make an excellent capper to Spider-man’s time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not just as a founding member of the Sinister Six, but as a villain that has a beef with Peter Parker and not Iron Man. So far both iconic Spider villains The Vulture and Mysterio have been repurposed as people with a grudge against Tony Stark that end up getting Spider-man instead. Kraven could provide the bridge from the MCU to the Sony Spider-verse that the series needs. It would also help bring the technology heavy series closer and more personal for the webslinger.
