Rich might be one of the most universal super powers. Even if someone is a genius, the way that genius becomes something that fights crime is through buckets and buckets of money. Bruce Wayne knows this, all of his detective and martial arts training comes from the buckets of money left him after his parents died allowing him to become Batman. Similarly, Tony Stark is left a giant tech company by his equally genius father Howard Stark that allows him to take his genius and turn it into the Iron Man suit. Both of these characters have a ridiculous amount of wealth that funds their superhero shenanigans, but they have nothing on the king and protector of Wakanda, T’Challa the Black Panther. With a sovereign nation and the world’s only supply of Vibranium, the Black Panther is richer than Iron Man and Batman several times over. In fact, if you combined the billionaire foundation owner from the DC universe and the billionaire playboy philanthropist from Marvel, T’Challa would still be worth several thousand times more. That’s a lot of Batmobiles and Iron Man suits that T’Challa could buy to do whatever he wanted with. While characters like Doctor Doom have thrown a wrench into the calculations, whether you take the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Extended Universe characters or the ones from the pages, there’s no escaping the truth: It’s good to be King. Let’s take a look at how T’Challa’s wealth is calculated and how that wealth manifests for these super rich superheroes. We can also take a look at what kind of buying power that kind of wealth can give them.
