Superman is one of the best characters to ever come out of the comic book phenomenon. It was only natural that his move to the big screen should be every bit as epic. Over the years, a plethora of actors have played the part, from the iconic Christopher Reeve to Brandon Routh and most recently, Henry Cavill. Clark Kent is revered far and wide as a supremely powerful superhero with some amazing strengths, but it hasn’t always been smooth sailing. When sales of the comics faltered in the nineties, DC decided to kill off the character altogether. What happened next had huge consequences for the comic book giant – but it didn’t end there.
When Warner Bros. started to establish the DCEU with Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, they decided to revive “The Death of Superman” story arc. The result made waves that continue to have an impact on the rest of the DCEU. In fact, its true ramifications are still unknown. In this documentary, we’ll be taking a look at how the entire storyline came about and why, followed by a look at what we can expect from the Last Son of Krypton in the future. Will Henry Cavill still be at the helm? How did Superman’s passing in Batman v Superman effect the rest of the planned stories? Most importantly – is this the end?
