We all know and love the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but we’re still excited to see Sony Picture’s take on some of our favorite comic book bad guys. Venom 2 is going to introduce movie audience to the villain Carnage and even those unfamiliar with him might feel that his particular brand of terror is kind of familiar. That’s because he has tons of character similarities with Batman’s notorious foe The Joker. Cletus Kasady isn’t a fan of Eddie Brock but the two have an interesting relationship with one another. Both the Joker and Carnage struggle with their mental health and have spent tons of time in Arkham Asylum and Ravencroft Institute respectively. Harley Quinn is notoriously treated terribly but that’s just par for the course when you’re talking about these criminals. They essentially fill the same roles in their respective franchises and make us appreciate heroes like Batman all the more. As if we needed yet another reason to love the Dark Knight of Gotham or the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! Their origin stories might be different but you’ll be surprised how much they share.
