The Mandalorian continues to make the best case for a Disney+ account, delivering a moody western in space with Star Wars’ most enigmatic groups, the Mandalorians. Centering around a Mandalorian bounty hunter that everyone just calls “Mando”, he’s been on the run ever since he was sent to secure a special bounty. That bounty is a young version of whatever species it is that Yoda was, perhaps the last mystery of the Star Wars universe. Mando’s has gone against the Bounty Hunter Guild’s codes in taking the little tyke away from his would be captors, but there are some codes that Mando won’t break. There are rules to being a Mandalorian that Mando won’t break, however, because that’s what it means to be a Mandalorian. Ever since Boba Fett made his debut in The Faithful Wookiee and Empire Strikes Back, the Mandalorians have captured the fascination of fans everywhere. With only four lines in the original trilogy, Boba Fett made Mandalorians cool. Since then the Mandalorians have made more appearances in various Star Wars stories, some of them still canon and some not. What has emerged is a group that has a strict code of conduct that Mandalorians from Jango Fett, Boba Fett, to Sabine from Star Wars Rebels has to follow. Unless of course they’re part of the Death Watch. Whether they are followers of Jaster Mereel or the New Mandalorians, there’s something in the Rosel’nare and the Mando’a language or the Canons of Honor and Supercommando Codex that rules their life. Let’s look at these rules.
