While we are beyond excited to see Wonder Woman 1984, upon seeing the trailer we were a little confused when we saw that the character Steve Trevor has somehow been resurrected. As you might recall, the last time we saw Steve he had gone up in smoke after detonating a plane in midair. Though it seems implausible that he could have made it out of that situation alive, he appears to have miraculously made his way back to the land of the living in the upcoming film. Today we’ll be offering up a few theories on how the continuity editors managed to pull this one off. Theory number one suggests that he might not be who you think he is. We have reason to believe that Steve may be a clone or possibly a different version of his character from a separate universe. The next theory suggests that he was brought back to life by magic - possibly as trade between Wonder Woman and Maxwell Lord. Our final theory is that he never really bit the dust in the first place and was instead frozen in time for the past 70 years. Whatever the answer is, director Patty Jenkins assures us that the plot was well thought out and that we’ll be satisfied with their explanation. We can’t wait until June 5th to find out!
