Marvel’s Phase Four will be kicking off in 2020, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us! The movie that is set to really get the ball rolling is the Black Widow stand alone, set to arrive in theatres on April 30th. While a lot of the details of the movie are being kept tightly under wraps, we do know a few things about who is going to appear in this stand-alone epic. One of the biggest, most intriguing characters who will be crossing the screen --and Black Widow in the process-- is Red Guardian. His story in the movie is being kept a big secret, but there’s a lot we can learn about him from his comic book history. First of all, we know that he was orphaned during World War 2, and later taken in by a Russian KGB agent. This agent trained him to become a world class fighter and one of the best pilots in Russia, for which he became famous. Shortly after, he married famous Russian Ballerina Natasha Romanoff, AKA Black Widow. The two were happy for a time, but when the KGB decided they had bigger plans for Red Guardian, they forced him to abandon his wife for the sake of the mission and never return home. They faked his passing, and this turned out to be the fuel that would push Natasha into training to become the Black Widow. And that’s not even the half of it!
