Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be the final chapter of the Skywalker saga, which has been told for over 30 years.
While not everyone is happy with the new Star Wars trilogy, it’s clear that the hype train is going to go to hyperspace until Episode 9 comes out.
The Rise of Skywalker trailers haven’t revealed much about the film’s plot, but it seems like the final trailer has some clues that might mean major revelations for the movie and the whole Skywalker saga.
At this point, it’s very obvious that Emperor Palpatine is coming back for Episode 9, but it’s not clear how or why.
While Jedi masters can return as Force ghost after their death, when it comes to the Sith, cheating death always comes with a price.
Some Sith Lords were able to return to life and even become immortal, and in the stories that are no longer canon, Emperor Palpatine himself was able to come back from the dead multiple times.
But it seems like Palpatine’s return in the Rise of Skywalker will be much more than just a simple resurrection. It’s possible that Darth Sidious has far bigger plans, which go beyond just cheating death. It’s possible that the Emperor found the secret to becoming a god-like force being.
And the final trailer might have clues as to how the Emperor might achieve that, since it’s very likely that the dagger of Mortis and the Ones will play a role in the final chapter of the Skywalker saga.
