The announcement of Dragon Ball Super was quite exciting to fans of the franchise; though they had gotten new Dragon Ball material in the form of Battle of Gods and Resurrection F, an entire new series meant more Dragon Ball over a longer period of time. With these new episodes came a few new ideas and changes to the franchise. This is both because it’s been a while since the series had any new material and because it rehashed the plots of the films that preceded it.
Some examples of major changes that came with Dragon Ball Super are the fact that Goku appears much dumber than before, the fact that Vegeta still wants to surpass Goku despite giving up on that goal at the end of the Buu saga and all of the canon that has been reconfigured since the franchise last had a full series. Suffice to say, Dragon Ball Super brought out a lot of new changes to Dragon Ball, from the Golden Frieza Saga to the Universal Survival Saga and even Dragon Ball Super Broly.
Some of these changes are a result of Akira Toriyama having far less input on the series while others are the result of the series combining more elements of the original Dragon Ball series with the action of DBZ. If you want to know all the crazy changes made between Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, check out this video and let us know down in the comments which changes you did and didn’t like.
