We couldn’t be more excited about the announcement regarding the next stage of films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Okay, we could be more excited, but it would be tough! Among the many notable entries in Phase Four is confirmation that we’ll be getting an Eternals movie based on characters created by legendary comic book artist Jack Kirby. We know the movie has a lot of exciting stars attached to it including Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek and Richard Madden, but what does this movie mean for the MCU? The Celestials created these heroes as well as their enemies the Deviants. We’ll explore how they could have also impacted the history of the MCU and help fill in some of the gaps in the lore we’ve gathered so far.
But of course, we’re also thinking about the future and what the implications of introducing these characters could be. Does the involvement of the Celestials also explain the mutant gene? Could they be used to introduce the X-Men into the MCU now that Disney’s acquisition of Fox is complete? We’ll also talk about how this movie is making history by bringing the first deaf superhero to the big screen, played by actress Lauren Ridloff.
What do you think about the impact this new evolutionary offshoot of humankind will have on the MCU as a whole? Will they be able to explain any aspects of the MCU’s lore you have questions about?
