Fortnite Battle Royale took the gaming world by storm back on September 26, 2017 and, over a year and a half later, it’s showing no signs of slowing down. Sure, the game might not be at its peak anymore, which was sometime during Season 3 and Season 4, but it’s still going strong in Season 8 with millions of players around the globe. Why is Fortnite one of the most popular video games in the world? Well, there’s a bunch of reasons.

For starters, there are weekly updates in Fortnite that constantly spruce things up and, every couple of months, we get a new season that brings even bigger map changes to the game that completely change the meta. Season launches are big deals because of all these incredible changes.

We’re also very lucky that Epic Games utilizes the vault properly. The vault is where weapons that no longer need to be in the game go. Whether its for balancing reasons or seemingly no reason at all, Epic Games is constantly taking weapons in and out of the vault to keep Fortnite players happy. Since new weapons are constantly being added to the game, you can’t have every single weapon that has been in the battle royale available for players. There’s just too many of them and the vault helps address this issue.
