Characters like Oolong and Piccolo might seem like the main comic relief in Dragon Ball, but the ultimate underdog is Yamcha. He’s actually a good fighter and generally a good guy, but he has serious weaknesses that prevent him from growing as a fighter and learning from his mistakes. He’s the ultimate foil to Goku, Krillin, Tien Shinhan, Piccolo and others. They learn from their mistakes and shortcomings, but Yamcha never does.
