When you think of Thanos, the first thing that comes to mind is that he’s a big purple bad guy. Well, he’s called the Mad Titan for a reason. When we first saw Thanos in the MCU, he looked a little off, but has slowly transformed into everyone’s favorite Marvel supervillain.

Now, we all know Thanos as the power hungry, Infinity Stone obsessed wielder of the Infinity Gauntlet who got rid of half of the universe's population with a snap of his fingers, but why exactly did he do it? We just think he wanted to be the one to rule them all and the only way to do so would be to significantly reduce the population of the universe. Whatever the case may be, what we do know is that Thanos is one of the most interesting characters in the MCU. It turns out he also has quite the backstory that may shed some light on his decisions in the comics and the movies.
