What is one of the best things about comic books? For us, it is imagining all of the potential and possibilities. You can wake up one morning and suddenly be able to shoot lasers out of your eyes. You discover you can turn invisible or you can teleport across the world in the blink of an eye. Who didn’t dream about having an alter ego and saving the world? Super powers are awesome and life changing. Who doesn’t want to have a cool power? We do!
When you think about super powers, we know you are only thinking about the really cool ones. Everyone wants to be Superman or Spider-Man. You dream about being able to read minds like Charles Xavier and fighting like Wolverine. It may surprise you to know that not all super powers are super cool. They may be useful in a battle or very specific, but not the type you brag to your friends about.
Plenty of special people in the Marvel and DC comic book universe have powers that on the surface, do not seem like they can much harm. You may encounter them during a battle and kind of laugh them off. Well, you shouldn’t. For example, Medusa and her ability to control hair is a lot more dangerous than it sounds. If you come across someone using music, run the other way! Ant-Man’s ability to communicate with ants can bring a whole nest of trouble down on you. Boomerangs, using luck, and pysonic bricks all can bring an opponent to their knees. All we are saying is, don’t judge someone by their power or you may regret it
