Marvel’s many film franchises is one of the highest grossing and most recognizable cinematic endeavors across the globe. Under the Marvel umbrella, a cinematic universe was forged in 2008 with the release of Iron Man. Since the introduction of Tony Stark, there has been 15 individual films released that make up the ever-growing film universe. There are 8 separate film franchises that make up these 15 films, that include Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, The Avengers and more. Marvel has 5 more films to be released between now and 2019, introducing 2 new franchises- Black Panther and Captain Marvel.

Because of Marvel’s foresight to create a unified storyline that branches out into individual films, there has been the opportunity for numerous superhero crossovers. The most recognizable superhero team stemming from a crossover is, of course, The Avengers. While Marvel is all about the squad, we don’t see many two person teams on screen. With the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming release we will see Tony Stark working with Peter Parker. This duo has us very excited and got us thinking. What other potential twosomes are out there waiting to fight side-by-side and save the universe?

Thanks to Marvel’s upcoming Infinity Wars, will Thanos cross paths with The Collector? Does that mean there is potential to see Groot and Hulk side-by-side? We would love to see a Star Lord meet Ant Man buddy comedy. How about an all-female team with Black Widow and Valkyrie? They would totally give Thor a run for his hammer. There are so many possibilities that we’ve collected some of our favorites for you.
