Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is one of the highest grossing and most recognizable film legacies of all time. In total, there have been four released films to date: The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003, Dead Man’s Chest in 2006, At World’s End in 2007, and Stranger Tides in 2011. This year marks the release of the fifth film in the franchise, Dead Men Tell No Tales. It is going to be released worldwide on May 26, 2017. Each one of these films centers around the eccentric Captain Jack Sparrow and his adventures across the high seas looking for long lost treasures, trying to steal the heart of Davy Jones, trying to get back and then keep control of his beloved ship The Black Pearl, and find the fountain of youth. Along the way he makes new friends, like Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, while encountering old enemies like Hector Barbossa, Davy Jones, and Blackbeard. We even learned Will and Elizabeth have a son Henry Turner and he may have a leading lady of his own. In the fifth film, Dead Men Tell No Tales, Sparrow battles against Captain Salazar, a foe we don’t know much about because we’ve never heard of him before, but we know he has a grudge. That’s good enough for us.
