We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot” is the opening lyrics to A Pirates Life For Me, the annoyingly repetitive song heard during the ride Pirates of the Caribbean. Pirates, for the most part, aren’t typically thought of as trustworthy. “We’re rascals, scoundrels, villains and knaves” the remind us later in the song. It should come as no surprise that the film franchise named after the ride tries to be just as sneaky with their audiences.

The script seemed flawless, yet Depp and others always ad-libbed lines, with many unscripted lines making the final cut of the film. People would never know that the films’ director, Gore Verbinski, was scared of the original ride, or that Captain Barbarossa has a good, even if it’s not right, side. Keira Knightley was too young, and Orlando Bloom was totally lickable are secrets never told till now.
