How Scorpion Will Be Introduced To The MCU In Spider-Man 3
Subscribe: bit.ly/Subscribe-to-CBR
The sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home is heating up! So far we know that both Tobey Maguire from Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man 3 and Andrew Garfield from The Amazing Spider-Man & The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will join the MCU Spider-Man Tom Holland. We also know that bad guys from various Spidey movies like Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx’s Electro will be joining in on the fun. In all that craziness, it’s easy to forget about the big set-up in Spider-Man: Homecoming of Michael Mando’s Mac Gargan, AKA The Scorpion. Now that JK Simmons has been revealed as the MCU’s J Jonah Jameson, they could easily include Scorpion’s comic book origin!
In the original story, Jameson hired down-on-his luck Mac Gargan to participate in a top secret superhuman experiment to turn him into a villain capable of stopping Jameson’s hated enemy Spider-Man! That ends up biting him back as Scorpion becomes obsessed with Jameson instead, leaving Spidey to save him.
This origin could lead to bigger things like The Sinister Six! Sony has been trying to make that happen for well over a decade and you couldn’t do it without Scorpion. Especially with Better Call Saul and Far Cry 3’s Michael Mando FINALLY rocking it as the ultimate Spidey villain.
It could also lead to a potential Venom crossover. A battle of the Venoms anyone? I don’t know a single comic book fan who wouldn’t be psyched about that!
So let’s dive right into how J Jonah Jameson will create the Scorpion!
