With a history nearly as long as the Bat himself, Alfred Pennyworth has had a great run of adventures alongside the Bat-Family. From the Golden Age origins to the upcoming performance of Andy Serkis; there's a lot of ground to cover. So let's dive in and take a look at some of this butler's amazing moments.

Many versions of Batman's development from orphaned billionaire to feared crime fighter have arisen over the years, but it’s always a nice little touch to watch his trusty butler give him a hand. With a military history at his disposal, many iterations of Mr. Pennyworth have been more hands-on in Bruce’s training. Alfred has even gone toe to toe with some of Batman's adversaries and comes out on top. He’s not one to underestimate by any stretch

Michael Caine is just always a joy to watch, and seeing him run through fire for his employer is a real indicator that Alfred may need a raise sometime soon.

Alfred is a fair intellectual adversary for Bruce, being able to pull a fast one on him a few times. Sometimes in a lighthearted manner, others being a much tougher lesson learned. Alfred is Bruce’s parental figure after the loss of his parents, so he certainly cares a great deal about him. He’s always there to go above and beyond to help him. With a good bit of advice, or more unorthodox methods.

A real great character all around, it was due time for some Pennyworth appreciation.
