MCU Heroes Who Mentored Stronger Students

I think Disney may have actually broken the internet the other day with all of their announcements. Seriously, at last count I’m pretty sure there are 3,048 Marvel television shows dropping on Disney+ by 2022. At this point I’m pretty sure Galaga Guy and that one janitor from The Avengers who talked to Bruce Banner once probably have shows in development. This seems to be the era of the side characters, so what better time is there to talk about all the sidekicks who are so great that they actually have risen above the hero whose name is in the title.
Every single MCU character has a best friend or a series of friends who join them on their adventures. In any other franchise, these characters would likely be given a few throwaway lines and nothing else. Marvel, however, has gone to great lengths to flesh these characters out, making them worthy of franchises all their own. Well, aside from the Warriors 3, I guess. Unless they get a show about what life is like as an Asgardian popsicle.
There are also MCU heroes who had to prove themselves against incredibly powerful mentor figures. Even people with incredible superpowers or magical abilities have to prove themselves to someone. Then there are members of a team who you wouldn’t think would prove themselves more worthy than the hero, but pull it together in the end.
So let’s jump right into the MCU sidekicks who have surpassed their heroes.
