The fate of Monk Gyatso is still shrouded in some mystery. Though the Gang did discover his remains early on, the details of his death are a bit strange. For one, how did he defeat all those Firebenders? Here we are gonna take a look at this incredible feat of Airbending that leads to a stalemate between the Fire Nations invading forces and one monk.
Some of the concern is if this is possible. Would he be able to successfully face an army with one move? Any more moves than that and there would be many more scorch marks lying around. Luckily, we know a little bit about how air affects the human body and, more importantly, what it does to fire.
Now this is possible, who created this move? Did Gyatso make it himself? Was he inspired by someone else? Thanks to the Kyoshi Novels, we have a bit more information on the Airbenders of the past and can take a deeper dive into who could be behind such a devastating attack.
When all is said and done, does such a feat resonate in history? Due to the lost history of the Nomads, it’s a bit harder to pinpoint. But there is a small chance of the future influx of Airbenders catching wind of a technique. But would they use it?
