Fantastic Four: A Weapon As Powerful As The Infinity Gauntlet
Subscribe: bit.ly/Subscribe-to-CBR
The Fantastic Four have faced some of Marvel’s biggest threats. Even beyond the Avengers they have been Earth’s first line of defense. Not just because of their combination of powers, but because of the power that Reed Richards had before cosmic rays ever entered the equation, having a big ol’ brain. But even his big brain and kind of silly stretchy powers isn’t always enough to face the galaxy’s biggest threat. Big threats like Galactus. The giant purple planet eater seemed like a threat too big even for the Fantastic Four. That is until Uatu the Watcher hipped Richards and his family to the existence of the ultimate deus ex machina, a literal machine that could kill a godlike character, the Ultimate Nullifier. The Ultimate Nullifier might not look like much, just a big lever with a handle, but in that humble package hides what is Marvel’s most powerful weapon. Even more powerful than the Infinity Stones. The weapon does exactly what it says it does, it nullifies whatever the wielder is after. That could be a godlike being like Galactus, or a whole world, or an entire timeline. Not just ending it, but nullifying it entirely. We don’t know when or even if Galactus will make his way into the MCU, but it wouldn’t be the first time Marvel’s first family faced Galactus on the big screen so it’s entirely likely. Even more important, however, is Marvel embracing the multiverse which might make the one thing that can clean up entire timelines with a flip of switch might become an important element in the MCU.
