MCU: Captain America Will Return As A Skrull

There have been plenty of rumors that Chris Evans is going to reprise his role as Captain America in the MCU. As hardcore fans, we were so excited to hear about his return, but things went south quickly once he famously tweeted “news to me.” It was a very sad moment for all MCU fans who want to see Cap on the big screen again, but maybe this is all just some weird coordinated plan by Marvel Studios and Chris Evans to throw us off and not think he’s returning until we see Captain America in a trailer. Whatever the case may be, we’re not really buying what Chris Evans is selling.

It’s possible that the return of Captain America will happen in one of Marvel Studios’ recently announced series, with Secret Invasion looking like the best opportunity. The whole Secret Invasion storyline in the comics was about shapeshifting Skrulls posing as superheroes and high ranking officials in the government and SHIELD to spread distrust. It was a smash hit. A Skrull posing as Captain America would surely throw everyone for a loop since he’s the most truthful and honest hero we have in the MCU. Everyone is going to trust what he says, which doesn’t bode well for them.
