There’s something about the Kaiju monster. It can’t hide in your closet, it definitely won’t sneak up on you, but when it comes to town you won’t have to convince skeptics that it was a giant monster. You can probably see it walking off into the horizon for a good hour after it’s laid carnage to your entire city. Since King Kong and Godzilla monster mashed on the scene, it’s not been enough just to be big and really hate aircraft. Over the course of 32 Godzilla movies, the stakes have steadily increased and Godzilla has faced an ever increasing rogues gallery of powerful foes. From a nightmare version of Aubrey II in Biolante to the mechanical versions of Godzilla and his main foe King Ghidorah in Mechagodzilla and Mecha King Ghidorah. Efforts to destroy Godzilla created the Destroyah. These monster join classics like Gigan the all weapon Kaiju and Mothra, the giant magic peacekeeping moth that can be summoned by a pair of fairy twins. Even Space has gotten in on the Godzilla game. But which one of these brings the most pain, who’s got where the gettin’s good? Who really is the King of the Monsters? Well, we all know the answer but let's do the countdown anyway. That way we can quibble and disagree with each other about the order. Just as long as our disagreement doesn’t level half of Tokyo.
