Batman is one of the most iconic superheroes to grace the four color page. While he’s gone through some changes since he was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger there has been one consistent thread throughout his time as Gotham’s chief freelance crime fighter. That Batsuit that is meant to strike terror in the superstitious mind of the common Gotham criminal. Turns out, giving themselves a theme was something that the criminals of Gotham could really get into. While a menacing suit, dramatic cape, and bottomless tool belt has been enough for most of Batman’s crime fighting adventures. Sometimes, however, you need an upgrade. After all, being rich only works as a superpower only works if you spend that wealth on things that take the place of inherent superpowers. And spend it he has. Over time Batman has suited up in the more metal sense with various sets of power armor that have increased his powers to actual powers, up to and including enough to take on the Justice League themselves. From Kingdom Come, to the Insider, to the reality warping Final Suit, Batman has found ways to crank up the power. Sometimes it’s cosmetic, sometimes it’s problematic, sometimes it’s just downright weird, but it always has the Batman touch. Here are some of the biggest and baddest among Batman’s suits and how they measure up against each other when the chips are down and the crime needs fighting.
