The Avatar franchise has some of the best villains hands down. Fans of the series all have their personal faves. I understand that a lot of people really like Kuvira for a multitude of reasons. The thing about villains is, they are more than just an antagonist; a person who works against the protagonist. This is what separates the villains in Avatar the Last Airbender from Legend of Korra. Aang’s main enemy was Fire Lord Ozai, an imperialist tyrant who wanted to reshape the world. He was very powerful even without the aid of Sozin’s comet, but beyond that he wasn’t a fully fledged character. Korra’s villains were much more than just their raw power. Amon for example, had an entire organization behind him that wove into society and used their disgruntlement with the system to further his agenda. Kuvira united an entire nation that was broken after years of monarchical oppression. Lowkey, Kuvira might be the least evil villain in the entire franchise...she’s kind of right about everything. But that’s neither here nor there. Just like it takes all types of heroes, it takes all types of villains to make a complete story; an interesting clash between good and evil. In this video we will be ranking the most powerful villains in the Avatar franchise. While physical power is important, charisma and cunning are also traits of a good and powerful villain.
