What’s better than MCU and Detective Comics comics? Detective Comics paved the way for what the superhero genre would look like for decades to come. Brave, virtuous heroes with fantastic powers and quick fists like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, The Green Ring Hero, Aquaman and so many more. MCU arrived later to define what a superhero could be. They took these over-the-top tropes and asked what it would be like if superheroes were more like real people. Iron Man, Spidey, The X-Men, Captain America, and the Fantastic Four all had the same amazing powers and virtues but they had to face more than supervillains. So what would it be like if you combined these two universes into one? Well, we don’t have to imagine it because that’s exactly what both companies did with their Amalgam universe in the ’90s.
After the amazing Detective Comics Versus MCU comic event that had our heroes and villains from both universes in a Tournament of Power style contest to see which universe would survive, the companies topped it by merging the two universes together. That means we got characters like Super Soldier, Dark Claw, and Amazon who were combinations of some of the most notable comic book characters of all time. Needless to say, these characters possessed the combined skills and powers of the blended heroes making them much more formidable than they used to be.
So which of the Amalgam characters were the strongest? Let’s find out! Don’t forget to like, subscribe and share for more from CBR!
