15 Marvel & DC Heroes With Twisted Father Figures

When it comes to heroes and their families, things are often a bit rocky, if they have any family left that is. Luke Skywalker learned that he was related to Daddy Vader, the Cape Crusader got forever scarred since that movie night that turned to the worst, and Peter Parker lost not only both of his parents but the man that stood in for the dad he lost. Times are rough for our favorite heroes, but some have it worse than others. In today’s video, I will discuss some of the known, and lesser-known, characters that had really awful parents and how it affected them.

Coming from both the MCU and the DCEU, in today’s video, I will discuss the characters and the parents or mentors that made or broke them. As we have seen in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, the weirdo known as Polka Dot Man had a really rough time growing up as he was experimented upon by his own mother, a scientist at S.T.A.R. Lab. Not only does he now have to deal with the side-effects of his strange superpower but he has seen his siblings disappear as some experiments failed. But the man is not alone; other comic book characters have had bad luck when it comes to parents. The latest Robin, Damian Wayne, was brought up by Talia and the League of Assassins before being trained as Batman’s sidekick at the tender age of 10. And there’s also Peter Quill’s father Ego, a literal giant living planet aimed at conquering the world.

Saving the world is tough, but growing up under these circumstances seems even worse.
