In times of old when armies met on the battlefield there were some distinct positions. There was the regular infantry, the grunt soldiers that were supported by the nobles, the armored knights that would ride in with their fancy armor all protected from the damaging swings of their opponents. All the way in the back, thinning the heard for everyone is the archers. The ability to deal lethal blows from a distance was a game changer. By the invention of the longbow these ranks were filled less with the land owners and their ilk but with the serfs and regular folk who didn’t view war as this cool opportunity to exchange hostages but rather a scary situation where they could die super easy and wanted to get home as fast as possible so they got really good at flinging as many arrows as they could in the direction of the enemy until there weren’t any more enemies to shoot at. Part of that panic was that these serfs didn’t get any of that cool armor that the knights had. This disparity is alive and well in the future present with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. This time it’s not a land owning knight but rather a billionaire industrialist and it’s not a serf but a super spy with a penchant for accuracy. Since at least in name we’re no longer in the caste system, though, why doesn’t the futurist hook up the medieval weapon obsessed team mate with a little bit of his upgraded tech goodness? What would you like to see the tech guru give the ultimate marksman? Let us know in the comments and while you’re there be sure to like and subscribe for the latest content in your inbox.
