Avengers: Age of Ultron Connects to Eternals

The newest superhero team is here! Step aside, Earth’s mightiest heroes because there’s a new group in town waiting to give you a run for your money! This new squad of immortals includes Salma Hayek’s Ajax, Richard Madden’s Ikaris, Gemma Chan’s Sersi, and Angelina Jolie’s Thena. They’ve actually been on Earth for over 7,000 years but now are finally ready to step out of the shadows when a new threat emerges. And the big question that we’re all going to have for them is: where the heck have you been? You’ve been here this whole time and yet you didn’t want to step up when Thanos came knocking? As the trailer tells us, they were instructed to not interfere unless Deviants are involved so that’s why they didn’t step up to fight the Mad Titan… but that may have been a mistake. It looks like the actions of the Snap and the resurgence of half the population has started a process known as the Emergence which will lead to the Deviants returning.

Now, all that is interesting stuff, but is this really the first time we’re hearing about this? All the way back in Earth’s mightiest heroes second movie, the God of Thunder Thor spends some time having fun in a pool of water, where he gets a vision of the destructive power of the Infinity Stones. But is one of the shots that we see in that Phase 2 film the same one we just saw in the final trailer for the new MCU film? It’s certainly a possibility! That’s what we’re here today to discuss!
