It wasn’t enough for this genre-defining, all-time classic anime franchise created by Akira Toriyama to have almost four decades worth of characters from sources like the core comics, video games, anime adaptations, expansions, side projects and movies under its belt. It just needed to have even more, and decided to do so by dropping a whopping 80 on the audience at once… and that’s just counting the fighters!
The Tournament of Power was no doubt the largest scale fighting contest the series has ever seen, with a whole eight universes fighting for survival, with the threat of the Omni-king erasing any and all losers from existence entirely. And with so many characters running around to challenge our heroes, some of which already had grudges against them for spurring the tournament in the first place, one question comes to mind. Of all of these universes, which one is REALLY the strongest?
Through analyzing their individual characters, their feats in the tournament itself, their themes and overall combat attitudes, this list attempts to give a look at one potential power ranking for the eight universes… plus the four we know so very little about as of yet. But there are a lot of factors to consider, and there is no way this could ever be the one, final, definitive list of how each universe stacks up against the others. You’re sure to be able to argue your way to an entirely different pecking order, and please feel free to do so in the comments below to get some healthy Dragon Ball discussion going.
