The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow exponentially and it’s getting to the point where team-ups should become more commonplace. Gone should be the days of solo movies that only feature one hero and its center and instead the future of the franchise should focus on more team up films. Look at how well Thor: Ragnarok utilized both Thor and Hulk, two characters that 10 years ago you would never suspect would wind up as co-stars in a movie together. I’m just saying, the MCU needs to do more of that!
Because if you look over the entire Marvel universe, you’ll find there are a ton of characters that would make for unlikely pairings to begin with, but could create some compelling superhero entertainment. For example, what would happen if Yelena and Spider-Man were forced to work together? How would Peter’s plucky naive optimism match with Yelena’s world-weary sarcasm? That’s what I want to see! And before No Way Home came out, you would never guess Doctor Strange and Ned Leeds were a good duo, but now that Ned is displaying magical tendencies, what would a partnership between them look like? Other great combos could be the San Francisco based Shang-Chi and Ant-Man or the tech-based Vision and Phastos! So many options!
Join me today as I talk all about the unlikeliest pairings in the MCU that would make for a great team. After you’re done, be sure to hit that big like and subscribe button for more awesome superhero content like this. Thanks for watching CBR! Let’s get started.
