Mutants. Mutation. X-Gene. X-Men. These are all terms at one point thought unspeakable within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, as we near the end of Phase 4 and get ready for Phase 5, fans are delighted at the revelation of mutants existing inside of the MCU. It was revealed during the last episode of Ms. Marvel that she, herself, was in fact a mutant. Factoring in our introduction to a Professor Charles Xavier variant in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and confirmation of a third Deadpool movie under the Marvel Studios/Disney banner, we figure it’s an appropriate time to dive into the comic books and highlight some of the most powerful mutants that we are sure to meet in upcoming MCU Phases.
In the comics, there are six official mutant power-level classifications. From weakest to strongest: Epsilon, Delta, Gamma, Beta, Alpha, and Omega, we created this ranked list to discuss and showcase the latter. As properly defined in Jonathan Hickman’s 2019 “House of X/Powers of X”, an Omega-level mutant is one whose dominant power is deemed to register or reach an undefinable upper limit of that powers specific classification. With a list of 14 documented and Omega-level mutants, which grew to 25 or 26 confirmed Omega-level mutants, depending on who you’re asking, we have only one question: Who is the most powerful of the lot?
Although this list will surely change as some of these registered, Omega-level mutants have met their demise as recently as last month at the time of writing this; and knowing that we’ll undoubtedly discover more Omega-level mutants over time, let’s take a second to analyze the ones confirmed so far… this is every Omega-level mutant ranked.
