The Hulk has always been a fan-favorite character, but the MCU has never given him a completely satisfying arc of his own. That’s mainly because the Hulk rights have been tied up in a complicated legal situation which meant that the Hulk could only appear in other MCU movies without a film of his own. That may change if She-Hulk is any indication and it will be interesting to see where the character’s arc progresses after the Skaar reveal. But I’m already looking ahead to Secret Wars. The Hulk has to be part of that right? No way he sits on the sidelines and I’ve been thinking of ways to give him the most satisfying story arc imaginable. And that’s where Maestro comes into play.
In the comics, Maestro is an evil alternate future version of the Hulk who has all the intelligence of Banner, but with all the rage of the Hulk personality. It makes for an extremely dangerous opponent and he’s probably Hulk’s greatest enemy. He’d be perfect for the MCU’s version of Hulk and it would create an extremely compelling showdown! But you know what would make it even better? If the MCU was able to tie in Eric Bana’s 2003 Hulk into it and make him the Maestro version we see our Hulk face! Could something like that even work? Or is that too much wishful thinking? Let’s discuss!
