Could the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Sony’s Spider-Man universe be combined into one? That’s the question on a lot of peoples’ minds with Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon.
For years, Sony Pictures has been trying to build their very own cinematic universe based around the Wall-Crawler and his supporting characters. After the end of both Sam Raimi and Marc Webb’s Spider-Man series, the studio struck up a deal with Marvel Studios to put the Friendly Neighborhood Hero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with Captain America: Civil War. Sadly, as the MCU’s Spider-Man has continued to succeed and break records, Sony’s films (with the exception of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) have stumbled at pretty much every turn… but all this can be fixed by merging these two universes together.
Is it too much to dream that one day, Tom Hardy’s Venom could finally fight Tom Holland’s Spider-Man? Could we finally get a big-screen Sinister Six? And, most importantly, could we finally have Sony’s Spider-Man villains fight… Spider-Man? Let’s break it down and see just how plausible it is that Marvel and Sony’s Universes could become one and the same after Secret Wars. Let us know in the comments if you’d like to see these cinematic universes merge, and please be sure to leave a like and subscribe for more fun comic book content! Thanks for watching!
