As much as we think of Star Wars as being long ago and far, far, away...maybe it's not the long ago, or that far. There are a few examples of Star Wars being quite close to home, and although not ever cannon, it's so much closer than we really think. So in some ways Earth Does exist in the Star Wars Universe.
