The Season 2 finale of What If…? is a proper sequel to Season 1's final episode where the Guardians of the Multiverse gathered to take down Infinity Ultron. After saving the incursion of one reality into the Marvel 1602 reality, Captain Peggy Carter is rescued by Strange Supreme. He takes her to a place where he's trying to atone for destroying his own universe through his efforts to keep Christine Palmer from dying. Naturally, Strange Supreme's idea of atonement is equally problematic. There's a bit more to it, and I explain the What if... Season 2 ending.
