We've got our first mutant joining the MCU and it's not Wolverine, Professor X, or any of the X-Men—it's Ursa Major. The Soviet Super-Soldier made his way from the pages of Marvel Comics and into the MCU's Black Widow with a cameo appearance performed by actor Oliver Richters. This is quite the moment for the MCU, as Marvel Studios has historically rarely jumped into mutant territory. It wasn't until the 2019 acquisition of Fox by Disney that the restrictions of freely using mutants, like the X-Men, were taken away. Kevin Feige has hinted that we may see additional mutants pop up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Ursa Major in Black Widow is a promising sign of things to come. In other news, HBO Max has reportedly ordered two more animated Game of Thrones spinoffs, while cancelling one of their planned live-action spinoffs. According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO Max is now developing a total of three animated Game of Thrones spinoffs, with Flea Bottom, the live-action series which was set in the fictional slum of King's Landing, getting nixed. And finally, even though we've known this for some time, James Gunn told the New York Times why Jared Leto's Joker will not be appearing in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. He said, "I just don't know why Joker would be in the Suicide Squad. He wouldn't be helpful in that type of war situation."
